Taken from her debut album Wake UP! due for a 24^th of April release, Hazel English’s latest track ‘Off My Mind’ is a colourful pop banger. English has replaced her previously established grainy, lo-fi, retro pop sound of past EP’s with this much brighter auditory world. There is still a retro feel to the track, but it is doused in modernity and every melody packs a bigger punch than the last. On writing the dreamy track, she says “’Off My Mind’ is about feeling stuck in a situation but too afraid to make a move. It’s about the limbo state between where you are and where you want to be”. With a string of live dates soon to be announced and the album appearing imminently, now is the time to get familiar with this Australian artist. - Dan Peeke
